Economist presents China’s and Hong Kong’s economic outlook

Visiting Principal Economist of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Ms Elley Mao, today (Wednesday) presented a briefing on “A Timely Insight on the Latest Economic Developments in China and Hong Kong” at a breakfast roundtable organized by Toronto law firm McMillan Binch Mendelsohn LLP. Participants include representatives from major banks, financial institutions, law firms and Canada’s think tank, C.D. Howe Institute.
Apart from the breakfast meeting, Ms Mao also gave a presentation to senior policy advisors of the Ontario Government this afternoon on the economic developments and outlook for China and Hong Kong. Ms Mao was also invited by the Canadian Association for Business Economics to deliver a keynote speech at its 2005 Economic Outlook/Policy Forum held in Kingston, Ontario early this week.
