Photo shows the Director of the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office (Canada), Mr Bassanio So, today (Thursday) presenting a briefing on Hong Kong as the platform to China at a parliamentary breakfast meeting in the Canadian capital organized by the Ottawa chapter of the Hong Kong Canada Business Association. The meeting was attended by 120 people, including 20 Canadian senators, ministers, and members of the federal government (MPs), as well as members of the senior management of Canadian corporations who are going to join Prime Minister Paul Martin's Team Canada to Hong Kong next January. Among them were the Hon Senator Vivienne Poy; Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, the Hon Joe Volpe; Minister of State (Multiculturalism), the Hon Raymond Chan; and the federal government's Asia-Pacific Critic, MP Jim Abbott.
