Hong Kong Promotion thrills Calgary community
Press Release - February 15, 2003 Calgary�s Chinook Centre was packed today (February 15) with thousands of spectators who came especially for the Remote Broadcast program and the �Building a Dynamic Hong Kong� photo exhibition as an integral part of "Hong Kong and Calgary - Cities of Dynamism" jointly presented by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Canada) (HKETO) and the Fairchild Media Group.
Participants stayed throughout the remote broadcast from 12 noon to 4:00 pm. They were thrilled by the touch of Hong Kong�s dynamism and latest developments including its ambitious plans to invest C$120 billion in some 1,600 infrastructure projects in the next ten years.
During the 4-hour live program, a game booth was set up and the host DJ played games with the public to test their knowledge about Hong Kong and its close ties with Calgary.
The highlight of the show came when Chief Information Officer, Mr John Tam, represented the HKETO Director, Mrs Rosanna Ure, in drawing the lucky winner of the overall grand prize from over 7,000 lucky draw coupons, 4,000 of which are from participants of the Chinese Spring Lantern riddle quiz. The winner, Katherine Wong, would be awarded a return flight ticket to Hong Kong.
The "Hong Kong and Calgary - Cities of Dynamism" promotion, which comprised of the "Building a Dynamic Hong Kong" photo exhibition and a Chinese Spring Lantern Festival, was launched yesterday (February 14). The purpose of the event was to promote closer ties between Calgary and Hong Kong and update the Calgary community Hong Kong's latest development and business opportunities. The photo exhibition is on public display at the Chinook Mall from 9 am to 9 pm until February 25.
Apart from the photo exhibition, a phone-in 'Questions and Answers' Quiz will take place in Fairchild Radio�s Good Morning Everybody Program from 8:00 am to 9:00 am from February 17 to 25 to test the knowledge of the audience about Hong Kong and the "Building a Dynamic Hong Kong" photo exhibition. The callers who can give the correct questions within the shortest period of time will be awarded prizes.
