Hong Kong’s Secretary for Security to visit Ottawa on February 23

Press Release - February 17, 2004

The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee will visit Ottawa on February 23 (Monday) as the last leg of his duty visit to the United States and Canada.

During his brief visit to Ottawa, Mr. Lee will meet with his counterparts from the local law enforcement agencies, including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canadian Border Security Agency and Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Mr Lee will depart Ottawa for Hong Kong on February 24.

Mr Lee’s duty visit to the United States and Canada will first take him to San Francisco en route to Washington DC. During the brief stopover, Mr Lee will make use of the opportunity to update the local media on the latest security situation of Hong Kong.

While in Washington DC, Mr Lee will meet with officials from the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He will also address a lunch meeting hosted by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.
