A large scale Hong Kong Promotion featuring a live radio show and a Chinese Spring Lantern Festival celebration, will be staged at Chinook Centre in Calgary on February 5.

Following the success of last year�s effort, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Canada) (HKETO) has timed this year�s Hong Kong Promotion in Calgary to coincide again with the Chinese Spring Lantern Festival and the visit of the Hong Kong Wushu Delegation to maximize its promotional appeal.

Entitled �Hong Kong and Calgary � Cities of Dynamism�, the Hong Kong Promotion will kick off with a live radio show presented by Fairchild Radio starting from 3:00 pm.

During the live radio show, the host DJs will play games with the public to test their knowledge about Hong Kong and its close ties with Calgary. They will also interview leading members of the Hong Kong Wushu Team including Taiji gold medal winner Li Fai, Changquan silver medal winner To Yu Hang and �King of Nangquan� Chang Ka-ho, who will participate in the event to meet the public for autographs and photographs.

The radio show will continue until 6pm when the Chinese Spring Lantern Festival celebration starts to entertain the public with many traditional Chinese cultural performances and a Wushu (martial arts) display by members of the visiting Hong Kong Wushu Delegation.

The promotion will be officiated by the Permanent Secretary of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Ms Shelley Lee, the HKETO Director, Mr Bassanio So, MLA Ms Karne Kryczka, the Director, Business Sales of Tourism Calgary, Mr Mark Nicholas, and the President of the Fairchild Media Group. Mr Joseph Chan.

The results of a Chinese Spring Lantern Festival riddle quiz will be announced at the event�s opening ceremony. Winner of the overall grand prize will get a Hong Kong-Calgary return air ticket, courtesy of Tour East Holiday Ltd.
