Seizing the opportunity of his duty visit to West Canada, the Director of the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office (Canada), Mr Bassanio So, today (Thursday) met with the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, the Hon Iona Campagnolo, in Victoria, to brief her the latest outcome of Hong Kong�s chief executive election. In response to the election result, the Lieutenant Governor expressed great confidence that Hong Kong�s new Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, would do a good job in running the city under the �One country, two systems� principle.

During his three-day visit in British Columbia, Mr So will also call on Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell, and meet with Federal Minister Raymond Chan and other senior government officials to discuss with them the forthcoming Hong Kong-Guangdong joint business delegation to Vancouver in October.
