HK-Canada Co-production Opportunities Examined in Toronto

A seminar on �Hong Kong-Canada Co-production� held today (October 5) as part of the Hong Kong film Festival in Toronto examined how Canadian film and television producers can leverage on Hong Kong�s advantages to enter into the growing markets of Mainland China and the rest of Asia.
Joining the Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Canada) (HKETO), Mr Bassanio So (standing) as panel speakers were (from left to right): Andrew Yiu, Director (Canada) of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Director of �The Floating Landscape� Carol Lai, David Zitzerman, Partner of Goodmans LLP and Jackson Ip, Senior Marketing Executive of Rogers Media TV. The Hong Kong Film Festival is organized by the HKETO and the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, with the full support from the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to promote Hong Kong films and to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the Canadian community about the work of Hong Kong�s film professionals. A series of eight recently produced films by renowned Hong Kong directors is currently shown at the ROM Theatre until October 8.
