Alan Hoo discusses Basic Law with Canadian MPs and speaks at university

Mr Alan Hoo, Chair of the Basic Law Institute, and member of the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee (Convenor of the Working Group on Overseas Community) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region today (Friday) met with Toronto-based Members of the Parliament including Bryon Wilfred, Tom Wappel, Michael Chong, and Olivia Chow to brief them the key provisions in the Basic Law and how they have been implemented in Hong Kong.
Apart from meeting the MPs, Mr Hoo also gave a lecture on “The Joint Declaration, Basic Policies and the Basic Law” organized by the University of Toronto’s Asian Institute at the Munk Centre to wrap up his North America visit.
During his brief two-day visit in Toronto, Mr Hoo had met with the city’s business sector, Hong Kong community, and the media.

Mr Alan Hoo today briefs Toronto-based Members of Parliament on the key provisions in the Basic Law, the principle of “One country, two systems” and how it is implemented in Hong Kong.
