A one-stop shop providing professional support to meetings,
incentives, conventions and exhibition (MICE) organizers has
been set up in Hong Kong. The Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong
(MEHK), under the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), will take the
city's MICE business to the next level.
The MEHK office will consist of three teams to offer dedicated
services for the MICE segments respectively.
The Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development
(Commerce, Industry and Tourism), Miss Yvonne Choi, said Hong
Kong is well-positioned to be a popular destination for MICE
events, with its prime location, world-class infrastructure,
sophisticated services sector and proximity to the Mainland. "We
are also a safe city with a sound legal system and a
level-playing field for business. Importantly, visitors from
over 170 countries enjoy visa-free entry to Hong Kong," she
added.
The MEHK office will collaborate with different sectors to
devise customized solutions and value-added hospitality offers.
Special discounts, free tour programmes and hotel room upgrades
are some of the incentives offered by various venue providers,
hotels, destination management companies and airlines to ensure
an unparalleled experience for visitors.
A MEHK mission is coming to North America with a stop in Toronto
scheduled for March. For enquiries, please contact Michael Lim (michael.lim@hktb.com),
Director (Canada, Central & South Americas) of the HKTB. |
