Situation report on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome in Hong Kong

The following is jointly issued by the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR):
In Hong Kong, there is one new confirmed case of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) today (June 10). This is the 26th consecutive day on which the number of cases has fallen below 5 since May 16.
Today's case involved a 65-year-old man from Wing Shui House, Lek Yuen Estate. His family member has earlier been confirmed with SARS infection. He was admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital on May 23 and is now in stable condition. No other SARS cases in connection with Wing Shui House has been reported since then.
The number of patients recovered and discharged from hospital continues to rise to 1368. Of them, three were discharged today.
The number of SARS patients in intensive care unit is 17. These cases are part of the 62 cases under treatment in hospitals. Most of the patients are showing positive responses to the treatment protocol. In addition, 34 are recovering patients in convalescence and in preparation for discharge.
Two patients with underlying diseases died in Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) and Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH). This brought to 290 the total number of deaths relating to SARS in Hong Kong. Their information is as follows:
