The Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Ms Elsie Leung, will pay a visit to Canada from November 17 to 22.

Her visit will cover Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, where she will meet with government officials, think-tanks, legal professionals, academics and the local Chinese business and community leaders.

In Ottawa, Ms Leung will meet with the Secretary of state for Asia Pacific, the Hon David Kilgour; and the Minister of Justice, the Hon Martin Cauchon.

She will attend a roundtable luncheon with distinguished women leaders to be organised by the Conference Board of Canada and a roundtable discussion on the implementation of One Country Two Systems in Hong Kong. The latter is organised by the Canadian Institute of International Affairs and the Canadian Council on International Law.

In Toronto, Ms Leung will meet the Attorney General of Ontario, the Hon Michael Bryant. She will also address a luncheon to be jointly organised by the Canadian Club, the Hong Kong Canada Business Association (Toronto), the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council at Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

In Vancouver, Ms Leung will meet with Mayor Malcolm Brodie of the City of Richmond, Mayor Larry Campbell of the City of Vancouver, and the Attorney General of British Columbia, the Hon Geoff Plant.

She will also attend a luncheon to be held in her honour by the Hong Kong Canada Business Association (Vancouver), the Canadian Club and the HKETO.
