The "Hong Kong - Your Fast Track to China" trade mission is open for registration today (June 11) and Canadian companies interested in doing business with Hong Kong or through Hong Kong with China are advised to take advantage of this unique opportunity to fast track to the China market.

Organized by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Canada) (HKETO), in conjunction with Hong Kong-Canada Business Association, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Tourism Board, the trade mission entitled "Hong Kong -Your Fast Track to China" will take place from November 8 to 11.

Since its initial launch in April, Canadian businesses in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal have expressed considerable interest in the trade mission.

"We have received many enquiries about the Hong Kong Canada trade mission. This is a very encouraging sign as it reflects the strong interests Canadian companies have on the Hong Kong and China markets," said Mrs Rosanna Ure, Director of the HKETO.

She advised interested Canadian companies to act fast. "Canadian companies participating in the trade mission will benefit from our unique �pre-mission business matching� service, which will enable them to get in touch with potential Hong Kong partners with similar business interests prior to the mission, thus expediting the whole process of negotiation," Mrs Ure said.

Formal registration of the Hong Kong Canada trade mission has now started. The trade mission aims to recruit Canadian companies from sectors such as information communication technology and biotech (including bio-pharmaceutical, environmental science and agri-food). Companies engaging in financial services, tourism/entertainment and educational services are also welcome.

The "Hong Kong � Your Fast Track to China" trade mission has the full support of Report On Business Television and Fairchild TV as its media sponsors. Both TV stations will accompany the delegation to Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific Airways has also pledged its support as the official carrier of the trade mission.
