Hong Kong Secretary for Security Visits Ottawa

Hong Kong's Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, signed the visitors' book during a call on the Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Mr Giuliano Zaccardelli. They exchanged views on ways to cooperate in the fight against cross-boundary crimes.

In his first official visit to Ottawa, February 24, the Hong Kong Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, met with his counterparts in law enforcement agencies in the Canadian federal government. These included Commissioner Zaccardelli of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, President Alain Jolicoeur of the Canadian Border Security Agency and Deputy Minister Michel Dorais of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Mr Lee updated them on the latest security situation in Hong Kong and exchanged views on subjects of mutual interest.

Before arriving in Ottawa, Mr Lee visited San Francisco and Washington to meet officials from the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
