As the world is gripped by the developments of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), health care workers in Hong Kong and Canada are at the forefront of this battle. Their dedication, compassion, courage and professionalism has been the source of inspiration for both Hong Kong and Canadian citizens. Their selfless commitment is exemplified, sadly, by the recent death of a nurse in Hong Kong.

A group of organizations in Canada which has strong ties with Hong Kong has expressed the wish to lend their moral support and pay tribute to the health care professionals in both Hong Kong and Canada. The Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office (Toronto), which is the official representative of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government based in Toronto, wholeheartedly supports this meaningful campaign.
