Senior Government Appointments Announced

CE Tung Chee Hwa announces the appointment of Henry Tang (to his left) as the new FS and Ambrose Lee (to his right) as S for S. John Tsang (far left) replaces Mr Tang as SCIT, while Commissioner of Customs & Excise Raymond Wong (far right) has been named Mr Lee's replacement as head of the ICAC.The Hong Kong Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, announced on August 4 that the Central People’s Government had, on his nomination and recommendation, approved the following appointments:

-Mr Henry Tang as the Financial Secretary
-Mr Ambrose Lee as the Secretary for Security
-Mr John Tsang as the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology
-Mr Raymond Wong as the Commissioner of ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption)

Mr Tung commended each of the appointees for their depth of commitment and knowledge. 

“I am confident that the Financial Secretary and the three other Principal Officials will help us move towards a more open, progressive and efficient Government, to work for the interests of the people of Hong Kong and do their utmost to serve the public," said Mr Tung.
