Invest Hong Kong assists record number of overseas and Mainland companies to set up or expand in Hong Kong Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) today (January 24) announced that the Department assisted 316 overseas and Mainland companies to set up or expand in Hong Kong in 2012, which represents an all-time high and a 4 per cent increase over a year ago. The Chief Executive tackles most pressing issues in maiden Policy Address The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, in his maiden Policy Address today (January 16), laid out plans to tackle the key issues of housing and land supply, poverty, ageing population and the environment. Hong Kong ranked world's freest economy for the 19th consecutive year (with photo) The acting Financial Secretary, Professor K C Chan, today (January 10) welcomed the ranking of Hong Kong as the freest economy in the world for the 19th consecutive year by the Heritage Foundation. According to the 2013 Index of Economic Freedom released today, Hong Kong scored 89.3 (on a scale from 0 to 100), well above the global average of 59.6. Click here to read more. |
