Philips Casts Vote of Confidence in HK

Philips has relocated its regional headquarters, as well as the global headquarters of some of its business divisions, to Hong Kong. Its new offices are housed at Three
Pacific Place and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks.
Philips’ new presence at the Science Park and the high value-added services that it brings to Hong Kong would reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a prime location
for technology-based companies, and strengthen the innovation and technology clusters at the Park.
Mr. Andreas Wente, President and CEO of Philips Electronics Asia Pacific, described Hong Kong as a “new cradle of technological innovation which perfectly
match our belief in technology-design around you, easy to experience and advanced.”
He said that Asia-Pacific would be Philips’ major focus for the future. Sales in the region increased 13% in 2004. “We are striving to generate 33% of Philip’s total
global revenue from the Asia Pacific by 2008,” he added.
As a leading global electronics company, Philips found Hong Kong’s pro-business environment favourable to the company’s business strategies, supported by a
well-developed legal and financial infrastructure. Philips’ presence spans China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India,
Pakistan, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
