CEPA Highlighted at Ivey School of Business

HKETO Director Bassanio So speaks about CEPA at a business seminar attended by some 100 Ivey students and faculty members.

The Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) between the Mainland of China and Hong Kong was featured in a CEPA Photo Exhibition at Ivey School of Business earlier this year.

The week-long exhibition was designed to draw university students’ attention to the many business opportunities of CEPA.

The Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Canada), Mr. Bassanio So, officially launched the event. He also spoke about CEPA at a business seminar attended by some 100 Ivey students and faculty members.

Mr. So’s visit also coincided with the recent launch of the new China Business MBA Stream at Ivey. The Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario will soon offer MBA students the opportunity to develop global management skills as well as an in-depth understanding of China, which is rapidly emerging as one of the world’s economic power-houses and a source of tremendous opportunity for future business leaders.

The design of this new stream will help give managers the tools and cultural training to succeed in the Chinese marketplace and to incorporate China effectively into their global business strategies.

Ivey’s new China Business Stream will give MBA students the chance to undertake their studies at Ivey’s London campus and at Ivey’s Asian campus – the Cheng Yu Tung Management Institute – located at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
