Biography of Maureen Siu
Director, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Toronto

Maureen Siu joined the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 1991 as a member of the Administrative Officer Grade.  Before taking up the Director post in Toronto Office in March 2008, she had served in different capacities in different offices, including Civil Service Bureau, as the head of the Civil Service Training & Development Institute; the Commerce, Industry & Trade Bureau; the Financial Secretary’s Office; the Planning, Environment and Lands Bureau; and the Home Affairs Department.  Prior to that, she was an entrepreneur in the restaurant business in Massachusetts, and a director of a social service center in New York City.  She received her Master of Public and Private Management from the Yale University and her B.A. cum laude in sociology from the University of Massachusetts.
