US-based Amway Corporation, one of the world’s largest direct selling
companies, opened its Hong Kong flagship on June 7.
Since
it was established in Hong Kong nearly 30 years ago, Amway has grown
steadily - from four employees to over 90. The new two-storey Amway
Causeway Bay Showroom and Merchandising Centre represents a significant
expansion of the company’s presence in Hong Kong.
“Hong Kong has continued to be a dynamic and vibrant market for us,"
said the Regional CEO of Amway Greater China, Mrs Eva Cheng. “Consumers
here are sophisticated and constantly look for good quality products to
upgrade their lifestyle. We believe that there is still tremendous untapped
market potential."
The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong,
Mr Simon Galpin, was invited to officiate at the ceremony. “Amway’s
expanded presence here confirms our position as a regional shopping
hub,"
he said, “and is an example for other leading multinational corporations
wishing to utilize Hong Kong as a base to tap the mainland market."
