InvestHong Kong Supports Expanding Business Landscape

From aviation to logistics, sportswear and home fashion retailers to banks and legal firms, Invest Hong Kong has welcomed myriad new and expanding businesses to Hong Kong in recent months. 

Dassault Falcon Jet Corp, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US-based Dassault Aviation, has opened a regional office in Hong Kong which will play a pivotal role in the company's regional strategy by enabling it to establish close relationships with customers across Asia's burgeoning aviation market. 

World cup hero Luca Toni officiated at the opening of the new Lotto football concept store in Mongkok. Lotto Sport Italia is a sports manufacturer of footwear, clothing and accessories for performance and leisure. The company’s Business Unit Director Asia Pacific, Luca Tomat, said, “We appreciate Hong Kong’s clear and simple regulations and a pro-business environment. And the city offers various options for financing our business, a skilled workforce with professional managerial experience and top quality professional service providers.”

Global logistics - Principal and Managing Partner of adi Consult Management Holding Ltd. Hong Kong, Mr Juergen John (right) and its Managing Partner Liana Sun, are both confident of the new regional headquarters in Hong Kong.Global logistics consultancy, adi Consult, has opened regional headquarters in Hong Kong. The company plans to use this new office to coordinate business across the region and, in particular, as a springboard in the Mainland China market. adi Consult plans to offer expert services in supply chain optimization, executive search, merger and acquisition and post-M&A integration activities and management audits. 

California-based Cathay Bank has opened its first full branch in Hong Kong, illustrating the bank’s expansion in the region and building on its representative offices in Shanghai and Taipei. The bank already operates 31 branches in California and 19 branches in Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Washington State and specializes in the niche Asia-American market.

Spotlights,  Australia's largest chain of superstores specializing in home interior, fashion fabrics and craft products, has opened its first flagship store in Hong Kong.  Spotlight, Australia’s largest chain of superstores specializing in home interior, fashion fabrics and craft products, has opened its first flagship store in Hong Kong. Located in the newly launched MegaBox complex in Kowloon Bay, Spotlight offers over 150,000 products across six categories: arts & crafts, furnishings, home decor, dressmaking, party supplies and bed linen.

Chinese law firm, Duan and Duan, has expanded into the Hong Kong market with the opening of its first office in the city. This is one of many firsts for this innovative legal practice. It was the first independent partnership law firm to establish itself in China and one of the first to launch into the international market, with offices in Seattle. With its new office in Hong Kong, the company will provide advice in the fields of corporate law, international investments and trade, finance, mergers and acquisitions, arbitration and litigation.
