People in Vancouver will have an excellent opportunity to experience Hong Kong’s rich and diverse cultural heritage early next month, when a fascinating exhibition entitled “The Heritage of Hong Kong” is staged at the Chinese Cultural Centre of the Greater Vancouver (CCC).

The exhibition, scheduled to be held between February 2 and 17, depicts 6,000 years of Hong Kong heritage from archaeological sites containing pottery and stone implements of Neolithic Period, to the splendid traditional buildings of Chinese and Western styles of more recent times.

Such remains, comprised of different types of cultural heritage like ancient rock cravings, archaeological sites, tomb, historic streets, ancestral halls, study halls, temples, forts, police stations as well as post office, all represent Hong Kongs unique heritage that can only be fully appreciated in the context of its cultural affinity with the South China and influence from the West.
