Chief Executive Election result

The result of the voting for the Chief Executive Election today is as follows:

Candidate: Leung Chun-ying
Number of valid votes obtained: 689

Candidate: Ho Chun-yan
Number of valid votes obtained: 76

Candidate: Henry Tang Ying-yen
Number of valid votes obtained: 285

The Returning Officer for the election, Mr Justice Jeremy Poon Shiu-chor, declared under Section 28 of the Chief Executive Ordinance (Cap 569) that Leung Chun-ying was elected as he had obtained more than 600 valid votes cast.

The notice of the election result will be published in the Gazette as soon as possible.

The Chief Executive Election was conducted smoothly today (March 25). Mr Leung Chun-ying (right) is returned at the election.
