July 23rd, 2009 At a business luncheon organized by the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association (HKCBA) in Toronto today, Ms Doreen Steidle (left), visiting Canada’s Consul General in Hong Kong, took the opportunity to thank Dennis Au-yeung (centre), Vice-President of Concord Adex, the title sponsor of the “Let There Be Peace On Earth” benefit concert by the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra, for supporting the fundraising event for the Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association (HKVCA). The proceeds from the concert will go to the building of a memorial wall in Ottawa for the 1,976 brave Canadian soldiers and volunteers who were sent to help defend Hong Kong during World War II. Bob Brown(right), HKCBA Executive Director, is a member of the organizing committee of the event. The concert, to be held at the Toronto Centre for the Arts on August 8, is jointly organized by HKCBA and the Toronto Hong Kong Lions Club, and supported by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Canada.
