Over 120 business people attended a China forum in the City of Burlington in November to discuss the challenges and opportunities in doing business with China.
The forum, co-presented by five chambers of commerce from Brantford-Brant, Burlington, Hamilton, Oakville and St.Catharines-Thorold in Ontario, also served as an information session on how to profit from the boosting future of China-Canada trade, with speakers and panelists from various professions offering a combination of background and strategic information to help Canadian companies do business in China.
As a keynote speaker at the forum, China's Ambassador to Canada, His Excellency Lu Shumin, shared his insight on Canada-China economic relations; while the Director of the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Canada, Mr Bassanio So, touched on how Hong Kong, Asia’s World City, could serve as a smart link to China. Topics on understanding cultural differences, opportunities for trade, practical banking issues, and tax strategies were addressed by other guest speakers.
