As one of the event supporters, HKETO presented a “Hong Kong
Cup” Race and set up a booth at the event venue to promote the Hong
Kong Food and Wine Year, and the 2009 East Asian Games, which will
be held in Hong Kong this December.

Canada China Environmental Forum
2009

The Forum provided a useful platform for Canadian environment
firms to explore partnership opportunities with Hong Kong with a
view to jointly capitalizing on business potentials in Hong Kong,
the Pearl River Delta and Mainland China. A “Hong Kong
Advantages” session was held to discuss on how Canadian companies
could use HK as a platform to provide a familiar legal and
financial context to doing business in China.

Association National Forum brought together 480 of business people
interested in expanding their reach to the China market and
elsewhere in Asia through a Hong Kong platform. Keynote speakers

of China to Canada; John Tsang, JP, Financial Secretary of Hong

fertile ground in Hong Kong. In an April visit, the Secretary for

(HKSAR) Government, Mr. Edward Yau, traveled to Toronto and Ottawa
to exchange views with government officials and inform

Trade Stockwell Day visited Hong Kong in April 2009

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs. Rita
Lau, met visiting Minister of International Trade, Canada, Mr.
Stockwell Day, on April 16. The two sides had a useful exchange on
development of internaitonal trade and bilateral trade and economic
co-operation between Hong Kong and Canada.
